To remember with gratitude those who have helped us in treading a new path is the article of faith with the Tamizhan. This the varalaaru.com editorial staff has done while completing two years in their literary journey is most gratifying. That they have thanked the viewers will be appreciated by us all,for it is the they who matters most. For what is the use of all this pleasureful pain, unless it reaches the eight 'thisaigal'? This 'minmalar' speaks of the multitudinous talents of Raja Mahendravarman esp. as seen in his satirical writings. That he never said that he was a know-all,and kept a cool and light head, places him in a higher pedestal than many of the kings that we know of.The digging of rocks and conceiving the cave temples was an entirely new path taken up and finetuned by the Pallavas (eventhough taken up possibly simultaneously by the Pandiyas,) In scale and richness of details these cave temples remain unparellelled till this day. For a tired and weak soul, a journey to these cave temples will be a certain refreshing tonic.These aspects have amply been covered in earlier 'Ithazhal'. I request if some one will take up the statecraft of Mahendravarman in facing the mighty army of Pulikesi and give us in detail in the forthcoming issues. For it is in facing defeat and destruction that a man's true mettle is exposed. May as an elder, bless these youth in their endevour so that the reach goes far and wide and becomes a forum for greater and enlightened participation in times to come?

நான் சில நாட்க்களாகதான் வரலாறு.காம் படித்து வருகிறேன். பல புதிய செய்திகளை கொடுக்கும் தங்கள் முயற்சி வளர வாழ்த்துகிறேன். நான் சவுதி அரேபியாவில் பணிபுரிந்து வருகிறேன். இங்குள்ள மக்களுக்கு வரலாற்று அறிவு என்பது கொஞ்சமும் இல்லை. தங்கள் வரலாற்றை எழுதி வைப்பது மத ரிதியில் தவறாக பார்க்க படுகிறது. இதனால் தங்கள் முன்னோர் பட்ட கஷ்டங்களை மறந்து, பெட்ரோல் கொடுத்த புதிய காசில், வாழ்க்கையில் இளம் தலைமுறை சீரழிகிறது. இதை எல்லாம் பார்க்கும்போது, நமது பெருமையும், ஆழ்ந்த வரலாறும் உள்ள தமிழகத்தின் பெருமையை பறை சாற்றி அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கும் புரியும் விதமாக நமது வரலாற்றை எடுத்து உரைக்கும் தங்கள் முயற்சி மேலும் வளர இறைவனை வேண்டுகிறேன். நேசத்தின் சுவாசத்தில் சரவணன் லோகநாதன்.

Amazing! As a Tamilian I am proud of your work especially when one realises that you are doing it purley out of love for our culture and history.The next time I visit Tamilnadu I will certainly be looking at the temples with a different eye! For some of us whose fluency in Tamil is just elementary your presentaion of our history will ceratinly go a long way to learn of our roots of which we should rightly be proud of. Please keep up your good work. Now I spent almost an hour a day at your site and hope to complete all your contributions soon. Your site has helped me to explain to my children (both born overseas and medical graduates)the deep seated meaning of the temple works and archeological findings in Tamilnadu.

The varalaaru.com is very helpful for people like us who has interest in the history but not having proper guiding. This articles give us awarness of our past history and make us to feel proud.
